DH and I rode by two last weekend and they were full. Now another is full. Great news.
To make room in Shasta for water from last weekend’s storms, the Federal Bureau of Reclamation ramped up releases from 5,000 cubic feet per second to 20,000 cubic feet per second on March 18. It was the first time since 2011 that the bureau released water into the upper Sacramento River at such a rapid rate, said spokesman Shane Hunt.

My daughter lives in Northern California. She will be happy to hear that.

I saw that, it made me so happy! It had been looking terrible. I worked at Shasta Dam in the 70s, we always had record overflows then.

It's good news for some of California. Not for us here in SO CAL. We still need rainfall - big time.

That is great to hear! I will be going over Lake Shasta end of April and it will be nice to FINALLY see normal levels. I was getting so sad every time I saw it going down down down. The cabin we used to stay in that was waterfront had become farrrrr away from the water. I am going to try to get to Oroville Dam in May too so I hope to see it full!

53 days with NO rain in Phoenix.........(and el niño was "supposed" to give us a cold and wet winter.)

I don't live near any reservoirs, but the river closest to me, which is our water supply....it's at about 25% of what it could be. Not what we expected for an El Nino year.

Status of California reservoirs as of March 1, 2016. No one ever said El Nino was going to bring them all up to full, although it is great news that Shasta has been high enough to spill.
Drought conditions for Arizona below.

@GingerPeach---I much as I hate the monsoon season, maybe it will be good to us , since we didn't get any of California weather this year.

With all the snow back in the Sierra's I am sure they will be full soon. We were at Pardee Lake and it appeared full.
