@We rescue cats    What a surprise to find another Johnstown resident on this forum.  I no longer live there but I grew up in Johnstown.  I still have some family who live there.

I haven't been back for a while but I met another Johnstown native on one of my guinea pig forums and she tells me much of it has changed.

I sometimes go to a web site that lets me scroll through the area and I can see the different streets around my former neighborhood.  I do see many changes but still it's so nice to see my hometown and remember all of the good people that I grew up with.

People here in Colorado don't have swimming pools but instead there are some terrific hot/cool tub options. Some are permanent builds and some are just portable. There's even a swim-in-place option for some of the tubs...more like small pools than tub.

I've never had a swimming pool of my own but they sure look nice...until the maintenance goes out the door.

@Linda0215 - Look for someone that does excavating work. We have a 1000 foot long road to our home that is steep at one end, the fella that maintains the road for us is the one that we have doing this. We're looking at having a car port/garage to cover the motorhome, he will handle that for us as well.

@spumoni99 we had a company that cared for the pool, and we had an automatic pool cleaner, but it was still pricey. Our electric reduced tremendously and we were needing to replace the liner and covers in the next year or so.

@J Town Girl Great to 'meet' you! The town has changed a lot-especially downtown, it's making a comeback now. I owned a travel agency right on the park downtown, it's now an art gallery.

Thank you for all the comments of the setting we have, we know we are most blessed.

@We rescue cats

I got a chuckle out of the bear having a fresh fish dinner.

@We rescue cats Every spring dh and I talk about possibly filling in our pool. We always decide to keep it open one more year. Just can't quite bring ourselves to do it yet.

I have another connection to Johnstown to add to those already mentioned! My brother, sil and their sons lived there for about 8 years. Their house was in a nice, quiet neighborhood. I remember having to go up a very steep road before turning onto their street.

Pools scare me to death. I like looking at the ocean but I’ve never gone in and never will. Will never own a pool.

I’ve been deathly afraid of water since I was little and have never gotten past it.

@Kalli-it's hard not have a hill to navigate around here! LOL

@Kachina624 -yes we are known for the 3 floods we have had here, the most devastating was 1889, over 2000 people lost their lives; the last one was in 1977.

The deed is done! The first load of top soil will come this week and then next year we will add to it and think about the landscaping.
