Butterball Fully Cooked Whole Oven Baked Turkey was easy and tastes great in sandwiches.

     HASSLE FREE TUKEY

We had no leftovers and my husband was missing his turkey sandwiches. He was in Publix at the deli counter and the service person told him they had plenty of defrosted, Fully Cooked, Oven Baked, Butterball Whole Turkeys left. He took a chance and brought one home. I called the Butterball Turkey Hotline and checked up on how to use the turkey. NO HEATING AT ALL IS REQUIRED. You can just open the outer packaging and slice whatever turkey you want for sandwiches or you can reheat slices for a hot meal.

My husband made us plain turkey and mayo sandwiches on bread and they were really good. The turkey was not dry, was not rubbery, had no taste of chemicals and was not tasteless. It tasted like turkey is supposed to taste. I will definitely buy this again. It was not cheap at $34 for 10.5 lbs., but if you want no mess, no fumbling for pans, no prepping a raw bird, it’s worth the extra $15.

Once cut open the hotline rep said to use within three days. The bird took up very little room in the fridge.

Thank you for posting.  I didn't know they existed, I'll make a point of looking for one for Christmas dinner or even for our Christmas party.

I wonder if you can freeze any leftovers if you can’t eat it all in 3 days. Might be interesting to try this since I won’t cook a turkey. I wonder if this is seasonal or if they sell it year round.

We tried one of those once just to snack on with cheese & crackers. We bought the smoked version. It was ok but nothing I plan on buying again.

I have not tried it heated with gravy yet, so If I were you, try it out once before serving as a main meal item if you are having guests. Plus, if you are going to reheat the whole bird in the oven, or reheat slices in the microwave there might be a difference in texture and taste. I’ve only had it in sandwiches. So far, I’m more pleased than I expected to be. The last time I baked a whole Butterball was five years ago. I have not bought another one from because my last one was mushy, had so-so flavor, and was full of chemicals.

You can call the Butterball Hotline and ask a rep about this.  1-800-BUTTERBALL

The turkeys arrive at the grocery stores frozen. My grocery, Publix, defrosts many of them so customers can use them right away,

I bought the Jenny O version last year. It was good, but I don't think it's worth the extra cost.

How do you eat 10 pounds of turkey in 3 days?
