Again you must be mistaken, the fire in 1969 was on June 22. A Sunday morning. The pictures published in all the local and national publications were of the 1952 fire.

I've lived in a western suburb my entire life and have never heard of the river being dyed green for St. Patrick's Day either.

Nice to see all these Clevelanders posting. I've actually crossed the river. Yes, believe it or not. I grew up on the west side and now live in an east side suburb. I too do not remember the river ever being dyed green.
