Bureaucratic Medical Practices

Regardless of one's politics about how health care should be fixed in the US, we might all agree on the fact that too many practices these days are so bureaucratic that patients face innumerable barriers to care. For example, my husband has made four calls just to get a prescription renewed and to set up a follow-appointment with the specialist handling his back problems. And my mother's friend spent five hours waiting at her doctor's office, only to be told that the MRI she had was done on the wrong part of her back....but no other MRI was ordered.
