Luv2-Willy is inside at night too, and goes out during the day if there isn't any ice in the pasture. I know quite a few people who left their horses out (with an available lean-to) in previous winters, but not this one!

On Saturday we had that blizzard 50+ mph winds, a lot of blowing snow and extremely cold and we drove past a pasture that had a few horses outside, I about flipped. They have a barn with stables too. Ugh. I'm sure Willy is the same way as our horse, when there's snow on the ground and it's sunny they LOVE to get a snow tan! Ha!

Horses do love snow that's for sure. LUV, I'm sure your horse and chumlee's Willy are two greatly loved (and spoiled) horses. Smile{#emotions_dlg.wub} Y'all are very blessed.

Oh believe me my pet is in. Laying on our bed on a blanket in a big ball. She gets treated like the princess she is.

Thanks for the reminder chum.

Croemer you are a good pet mom.... If I came back in another life as a dog I would wish to find a family like yours. I'll never understand how people can witness or participate in cruelty to animals. How can you watch a sweet creature be hungry or thirsty or too cold or too hot?

Please report any animal that is left out in extreme cold, I know in our area they (animal control) will check it out...I have a large dog that loves this cold weather but I won't let her out for long; and a spoiled kitty that sleeps with me on a electric blanket every nite, I love to spoil her as I found her abandoned in a park two years ago, she was living in a drainage pipe to keep warmSmiley Sad

Mine are in too, but they usually are. A dog on the couch, a dog on the loveseat, a dog on the piano bench and a cat the bed. Lord.... But, its not new. I am praying for no more drop offs.

Me either, most animals just want love and in return what love they give. My baby is so precious to myself and my DH . I have lost animals I have loved before and it will be devastating. My DH... this is the first animal he has allowed himself to get this close to since his were always farm animals and I never want to see what the loss would do to him.

I agree that just because a dog is big it shouldn't be outside all the time.

One of our neighbors has a pitbull/lab mix and he's always outside. Once in a while some teenager will play with him for about 2 mins and that's it.

All I hear is ""Buddy Shut up"". Poor thing. He probably thinks his name is Buddy Shut up.

Lame people who don't understand he wants attention. He's not even a year old.

One of my exes used to live in a rough area.

He had a neighbor who kept their sweet dog outside all of the time. He used to go over and feed her hot dogs and give her attention, etc.

When he moved out of there, he "liberated" her. {#emotions_dlg.w00t} She no longer lives outside in the freezing cold or sizzling hot temps.

I'm glad he stole her.

I agree Jules. I reported some people once who had nothing more than a lean-to for their horse. Nothing happened. The authorities wanted my name and I was not about to give it. The people who had the horse were not ones I wanted to know about me! I asked couldn't they just go take a look without my name. Nope. At least nothing came of it until the people were busted for having a major drug business.

That is deplorable you let an animal suffer in the cold.
