Would that be funny if HSN would bring Tootie back again, remember Bobby Ray sitting at the desk selling and squeezing the horn.....LOL

My very first purchase, an AM/FM radio white square with huge red lips that moved when the radio played.

HSN would only come in late at night where I lived and I sat in front of the TV moving the antennae to try to get the screen clear, it was so fuzzy and I lost the broadcast half of the time I was watching.

what made me think of this now, I have no idea.

That was when TV shopping was in its infancy.   It would be ridiculed by viewers today; we've gotten much too sophisticated.

Those were the days when I stayed clear of shopping channels because of the cheesy silliness.  The target audience then was bored stay at home women (retired or nonworking housewives) and you could only buy when item was presented.  I'm sure glad tv shopping has evolved.

Just curious. Was the horn used to announce a sell out? I would think this would be reminiscent of a circus atmosphere. Dear QVC, do not give any hosts a horn; it's loud enough as is...lol.

Some of the Hosts voices are so piercing loud...the last thing they need is a horn...to make matters worse....

I do think it would be pretty funny.

They should add the hook while they're at it.

At that time, you had to buy the product while it was on the air.  There was a lot of impulse buying back then.  LOL
