Bright Living Light Bulbs

[ Edited ]

I do not believe those light bulbs last 15 years.  I have bought light bulbs that were to last 7 years and they did not even work 1 year.  I just do not believe it.

Re: Bright Living Light Bulbs

When the light bulb switch over to the sprirl looking bulbs I went right on down to BJ's & purchased a case of the old school bulbs - 150 watts.  Nice & bright.  Still have the case more than half full.

I never switched over.   When I moved into my current apt, the first thing I did was removed all of their bulbs & put in my old school bulbs.

My apts have always been very bright when I turn on the lights.  I read a lot & I must have bright lights when I do so.  The only LED bulbs in my house are the bulbs in my flashlights.

I have one halogen bulb lamp.  The lamp is 20 yrs old using the same bulb it had when I purchased.

Re: Bright Living Light Bulbs

Yesterday, I stopped at Ace Hardware to restock my light bulb supply.

I'm happy if a bulb lasts me a couple of months.

The leds don’t appear to last as long as advertised.  I’ve used all different brands.

Re: Bright Living Light Bulbs

I assume they are LED's.  Don't know about them, but I have 2 LEDs comparable to 100 watts that are about 9 years old and still going strong.  One on my desk is on about 12 hours a day.  The other around 3-5 hours every night.

At the time, I was blown away by their price.  $50 each!!!!!  Sylvania at Lowes.

I had a Luminara candle on 24 hours a day that lasted 5 years when it began dimming.

@Jinlei,  if you read "the fine print" for most brands of LED lights the longevity is based on the bulb being lit for only 3-5 hours per day depending on brand.

I must have the most remarkable good luck.  Still waiting for all my cf bulbs to burn out so I can use my led bulbs.  Big investment going to waste here.

Funny you should mention this...........

A few days ago, maybe three, I thought I had wiring troubles.....so, instead of testing the lightbulbs, I went around moving three lamps.

I thought it was the socket, then the strips, etc.

Mainly because three light bulbs were flickering, then went out.  All LED.

I really couldn't figure it out.

Then "a 'lightbulb went off in my smart head"'..........all three bulbs went out at the same time, within two days.  Different lamps, but from the same lightbulb batch.  Purchased about three or so years ago. Maybe four years ago?

  My few incandescents remain fine.

I know, it doesn't make much sense at all.  Well, I guess I now believe in coincidences.

As they say:  'There's always something'...........

'More or less', 'Right or wrong', 'In general', and 'Just thinking out loud ' (as usual).
