I really get a kick about the sales person being called brand ambassador I think everyone knows they are sales people. This statement does not make them any different. There company sends them to sell.

In some cases I don't even think the company sends them, but the Q assigns them to act as vendors. Look at how many of them have gone from brand to brand, over time. Some of them are clearly associated with the brand they represent but not all of them, it would seem.

"Ambassador" is another word for representative.

My sister is employed as a "brand ambassador" for several startup food and beverage companies. That means that she tavels to various grocery stores and passes out free samples some days and calls stores and asks if they are carrying the products other days.

The glamorous life, indeed.

So if they swipe all the demo products after the show, do they get away with it due to diplomatic immunity?

I dated a guy who was a Lululemon Ambassador.

He did appearances...but no selling involved.

Isn't there a brand where the salesperson is called lead educator or head of education or something like that ?  phylosophy maybe ?  A fancy shmancy title for someone for a salesperson, oh, er, excuse me, so we really need a teacher for someone to explain a product to us ?  Heart

@stevieb.  They are for sale to the highest bidder.  They are hired by the companies they represent and get a nice chunk of change for each apoearance.  Posters have listed newspaper ads for some of these jobs.

My impression is that the Brand Ambassadors work for QVC, they present the product and might work closely with the designer/vendor but they aren't  employed by the designer/vendor.
