I can only speak for myself but I had no problems with mine at all. I did regular maintenance but I didn't need so much as a jumpstart with it. I have had cars that were less than 80k and required more maintenance.

2007 Toyota Camry (purchased in late 2006 so it's 7 years old). 107,000 miles. Been a very good car so far.
(But, I did have a Corolla for 6 years--bought new. At trade-in 79,000). I had all kinds of trouble with that car--and even Toyota was saying 79,000 was just breaking in on a Corolla. I actually think I got a lemon with electrical problems. Had to have a new alternator--and they told me the dealership had only put in 2 previous alternators in their business. Never could find the problem.

The fact that I average about 5000 miles/year and trade my car in every few years, I'm out of the running.

Yep! I know several people who had over 200k with Toyotas. One of the cars I drive now is a Toyota Prius and I love that too.
We're on our third Prius and this a.m. I was out and about and my MPG was 64.1! That's the most I've ever gotten. The highest odometer reading we've had was just over 100,000 miles.

As a matter of fact my daughter is going car shopping this weekend. She is pregnant and wants to get a bigger car (crossover type) and she and her husband are giving their Toyota to his brother. It has almost 175k on it and the only thing they have had done to it is oil change and regular maintenance, new tires and a new battery after 6 yrs.

No, my husband is a car guy and is pretty on top of things. Other than oil and tires, I haven't sunk a lot of money into it. And it's paid for ![]()
Toyotas with 100,000 are just babies yet.

Thanks to everyone who answered my question about frequent repairs and getting stuck in a car with a lot of mileage... I have not had such luck and trade in our cars when they reach about fifty thousand miles tops.
