A photo of three Idaho boys going to great lengths to make sure an American flag did not touch the ground is capturing the hearts of Internet users everywhere.

The three boys are fifth-graders at Hayden Meadows Elementary School in Hayden, Idaho, and were tasked Wednesday with taking the American flag down and ensuring it was folded properly, KGW reported.

One parent arriving at school to pick up her kids noticed the three boys going above and beyond to make sure the flag did not touch the ground and decided to snap a photo.

"Wow !  I just watched the most amazing act of Patriotism! Was waiting to pick up my children from school when three boys took down the flag. They were having a hard time making sure it didn’t touch the ground when the third boy laid under it to honor not letting it touch the ground ."

Very impressive to see these young boys being patriotic. It just gives me that real good feeling & touches my heart truly.

Not allowing it to touch the ground is just flag code.

Patriotism is taking that same flag & burning it.

The flag is just a piece of cloth.

Until people understand that freedom, they have a very

shallow view of what being an American really is.

IN THE U.S.A WE. ARE HOME TO DEMOCRACY, NUMEROUS FREEDOMS, AND LEGAL RIGHTS, AND WE ARE ALSO REFERRED TO AS " THE LAND OF THE FREE AND THE HOME OF THE BRAVE".

THOSE THREE YOUNGSTERS CERTAINLY KNOW THE MEANING OF THOSE WORDS, AND PROUDLY DISPLAY THEIR RESPECT FOR THEM......

"RESPECT FOR THEIR COUNTRY, THEIR FLAG, AND WHAT IT MEANS TO BE PROUD TO SERVE YOUR COMMUNITY, COUNTRY AND BE AN AMERICAN".

THEY ARE AN INSPIRATION TO ALL AND I AS A PROUD AMERICAN ADMIRE THEM FOR THEIR  NUMEROUS ATTRIBUTES.

I'm with you on the common yet shallow views of what constitutes 'patriotism'... That said, I'd suggest that while understanding the freedom inherent in being able to burn the flag demonstrates more of a true understanding of what the flag stands for, the actual act of burning it, to me anyway, doesn't demonstrate much of anything...

I have never understood the act of burning the flag. If you are so unhappy work to change things. Or leave to a country that more fits your needs.
