Boris Johnson health update:

 

PM 'sitting up in bed' as coronavirus condition 'improving'

 

BORIS JOHNSON is recovering well in intensive care as Chancellor Rishi Sunak reveals the Prime Minister is sitting up in bed and engaging with others including his clinical team.

 

Speaking at Downing Street, Mr Sunak said: "The latest from the hospital is that the Prime Minister remains in intensive care where his condition is improving.

 

"I can also tell you that he has been sitting up in bed and engaging positively with the clinical team. The Prime Minister is not only my colleague and my boss but also my friend and my thoughts are with him and his family."

 

Downing Street said earlier today that Mr Johnson is responding to treatment and in good spirits.
