Our very first rescued kitty, Bootsy, died of pneumonia Sat. nite. Four years ago, we rescued her mom and older sister--and found her hiding in the grass, very little baby. Older sister was already very sick, died soon after. We kept Mom cat until we could have her spayed, but she was too feral to live indoors. We named the little torbi "Bootsy" for her little white feet. She was the joy of our lives--and I had always been a cat hater!! She would roll over on command, fetch, etc. She was breathing heavily on Fri. nite, and we took her to the vet on SAt. morning. She got an injection of antibiotic and some fluids, and we were told to bring her back ifshe wasn't better by Mon. morning. I went to work Sat. eve,, my husband went out at 11:00 pm for a few minutes. When he returned, she had dragged herself upstairs and was under a chest of drawers--not breathing, stil lwarm. We had no idea that she could go so quickly, and were totally unprepared. My husband is devastated--he has a very tender heart--and I keep looking for her to come into the room. Thank you for listening--we have never had a pet before, and we just didn't realize how much you can love a fur baby. We have also rescued two mother cats who had kittens--much like "Pancake and her kittens," so we still have 5 cats, but Bootsy had a special hold on our hearts. Best of luck and health to all of your pets out there.
