Books That Were Better Than Their Movie Counterpart or Vice Versa

A lot of books get turned in to movies, so, which books have you read were better than their movie counterparts, or, conversely, which movies were better than the books that they were based on?

For me, I read "Flowers in the Attic". I liked the book, but when I went to see the movie, I was sorely disappointed.
