My gentle little giant stunned me: when the groomer pulled up with the mobile grooming office behind her truck, he went to the window and started SNARLING
Not growling, mind you, but a deep, angry, lip-curling snarl.
So evidently Janet the groomer is the bad guy in this case, NOT me. I'm truly amazed.
I've heard BooBoo growl a few times but it's usually when he's frightened. He was NOT frightened today--he was furious.
She gave him a short though thorough grooming--didn't blow dry his bottom as she usually does because he would have peed in revenge and then she'd have to wash him all over again. I'm fine with a slightly damp and much less furious cat. When she brought him back, he had a CONE over his head she's had to put on as a restraint!! I gave her an extra large tip for her trouble.
Oh my god, you would have thought she was slowly murdering him, the way he carried on. Because he was still damp, I kept him indoors for about an hour, then let him out into the back yard. He came back in a little while later and of course he was covered with grass and leaves, etc. But at least he was clean and his fur had a nice summer haircut.
Whew!
