This dead Blue Whale, world's largest animal, washed up on a beach someplace where they speak Spanish.

I knew they were big but am awed by the size of this animal compared to the people gawking at him.  He is just, or was, majestic.  I'd love to see one in person.  They migrate up the California coast.

@Kachina624 WOW! If this is not photoshopped, that is a MAGNIFICENT photo of one of the world''s most gentle creatures!💝😊 The juxtaposition of the whale versus human represenatation is jaw-dropping!!!!😁 I could not stop gazing at it for a few moments; it was that jarring!🥰

THANK you for sharing such a mesmerizing photo!🤗

Very sad. Perhaps hit by a ship. That's what we see on west coast. Just a guess of course.

@SandySparkles.  Here's a chart for size comparison.  They're up to 100ft long.  I've seen Humpback Wales and thought they were big.

@Kachina624 - they are such massive creatures, it's amazing. What a tremendous photo, makes me sad at the loss of that magnificent creature.

How sad. I had no idea of the size compared to people. Eye opening to say the least.

@Kachina624 , this is such a rare sight I am sure the marine mammal experts will study the mammal and investigate cause of death.  I hope they have a disposal plan because I know from personal experience that the rotting carcus will stink to high heaven.  And it takes a long time to decompose.  Wherever this is, the beach will be empty until they dispose of it.  Some times they tow the carcus to sea.  Can you imagine towing that?

I wonder if they can estimate the age and cause of death...
