There was extraordinary fighter jet noise off the Southern California coast today. Thank goodness it was the Blue Angels practicing for the air show in Huntington Beach.

The Blue Angels are great. They appear every year in Seattle.

The Central Coast is also having an air show this weekend in Salinas. CA Intl Air Show. We usually get the Thunderbirds, but not this year for some reason. The star attraction is an F-22 Raptor, i.e. the latest generation stealth fighter. It caused quite a stir in the local media when it arrived a couple of days ago. You can tell that all the stunt planes, etc have been practicing - lots of white trails over Monterey Bay.

I read or heard somewhere that the average height of a Blue Angel pilot is 5ft8, so they can fit in the ****** pit of the air craft they use.

@blackhole99 This is true. FIghter pilots are rarely taller than 5'10.

@Sassealassea My husband and I were able to see the Blue Angels from a boat on San Francisco Bay. They flew so low I thought the both of us would get "buzz cuts". They are amazing and it was awesome experience.

Sometimes the strength within you is not a big fiery flame for all to see. It is just a tiny spark that whispers ever so softly "You Got This - Keep Going"

I love the sound of them! The base where they are practicing from is right behind my neighborhood. I have 3 dogs, the noise terrifies one of them, but the other 2 don't care.
