@Redsoxmom1 So its not in the City of San Diego but the mountains? I thought it was not the city. We get lots of snow in the mountains right on the edge of Albuquerque but not much in the city. Two different climate zones. I can see snow from my house too as the mountains are only about 14 miles away.

@songbird wrote:How often does this happen? All the time I lived there, never any kind of snow or ice. According to CNN. Already one million without power. Also an exceptionally strong storm. San Diego could see 3-5 feet of snow through Saturday. That's what warming climate does. Extreme weather. Although by the time it get's to my neck of the woods, it'll be rain.....Incredibly we might get snow! This Saturday. Less then an inch. But still...
I'm in LA, I believe they were talking about LA County and San Diego County.
Parts of these counties do get snow. Right now, in LA proper, we got rain, lots and lots of rain.

Southern California girl here. They are talking about in our mountains. L.A. County, Riverside County, San Bernardino County, and San Diego County. Not the cities themselves.
We are getting a lot of rain and it's very cold. I ran out on my lunch when there was a break in the rain to do my grocery shopping. I could see the snow on the mountains. It was beautiful.

Lol!!
she's a Van Lifer. she had a job doing daycare for purebred cats. they paid her some absolutely ridiculous money. the house was on a hilltop with 360 degree ocean views and mountains. in the same area as the Harkles. They had a chef who prepared meals for them.
She quit to work retail!!

Yes, 3-4 ft of snow is likely for the Laguna mountains east of San Diego (not in the city). The next storm is hitting tonight and should be a doozy. Personally, I've been loving the low temps and rain.

The snow in So. Calif. is at the higher elevations, although there has been some hail at the lower elevations.
Saturday mornng, it has been raining steadily 24 hours. So helpful for California, giving the trees a good drink and hopefully recharging aquifers, reservoirs. I'm collecting water in buckets to water my patio plants when they need it. I have more water than I can store, unfortunately.
The dog doesn't want to go out to p! Doesn't want to get wet!
