I looked at Walmart & Kohls.
You don't have to shop at the store to get the great prices, you can shop online on Thanksgiving day. I know this is not for everyone but our family is on a tight budget and we love to shop the sales.
It's part of our tradition. We all work hard and don't have a lot of off days.
We'll have the traditional lunch then shop til we drop.
We've all worked retail ourselves as well, no one is working that day unless they want to.
We are always civil to the sales staff.

I know. I spent most of Sun afternoon & evening online looking at them. LOL!!!
I want a Ring Doorbell Pro or Sky Bell HD. Looks like the Ring Pro will only be $50 off but I guess that's better then nothing.
I also need to buy another Echo Dot but may buy the Echo or Echo Plus since rumor has it they will have special pricing on them.
I won't get out to shop but I will be shopping online as I have done for several years now.
I can find what I need online. If I went shopping around here I would probably come home empty handed.

It was on the news last night that WalMart has started pricing things higher online, than in store. Had noticed that on some items, but didn't think about it, as it wasn't things I was interested in. I shop online as it's easier to compare prices, get reviews, etc,, and all that walking causes my back to spasm more. Only started shopping at WM recently, lost some weight and walking is somewhat easier, but still can't imagine doing the Black Friday thing..
Thinking WM may get less of my business, if they keep this up. Also don't like their habit of making some things available only in store. Been looking for 2 more of the Pioneer Woman red Adeline berry bowls, only need 2, and WalMart only has them instore, and I can never find them, if they're there at all.
I also would like the Ring Pro, but will have to wait for next year, I think.
Thank you for posting!

The prices are higher now but the ad states the prices in the Black Friday ad are good on Thanksgiving day all day online and after 6pm in-store. I guess time will tell.
Our neighborhood has a pretty close relationship with our local Fire Department. The Fire Department is very active in the community, for example they open the firehouse on Halloween and give out candy.
Right now they are offering a free smoke detector for those who don't have one.
I say all this to tell you they were giving out Ring discount codes earlier this year. I didn't get one because I don't have enough internet to make it a worthwhile purchase for me. You might want to check with your local fire or police department. It wasn't some random code they found, it was specific to local law enforcement.
Black Friday in-store has gotten more civilized but it's still chaos. I didn't go last year but the year before, there were color coded "booths/tables" set up in the store. Each department had a color. So if you wanted a toy, you would find the yellow toy "booth" so to speak and get a voucher. When the vouchers run out, there's no more chaos. You use the voucher to pick up your item in store. It worked better than people crawling all over stacks of items, fighting over them.

Software, I am also on a budget, love to give gifts, and always shop one or two website specials on the day, too. Early is better for me, so I don't wait for afternoon.
My busy days are the 2 days _before_ Thanksgiving. I am at leisure in the early AM. Generally I get up around 4 anyway, and the 24hr sales are super good right then. I purchased a Scooba (floor washing machine) at a great price on Amazon two years ago. Oh, I dislike scrubbing floors and the bargain made the Scooba affordable for me.
Either on Black Friday or Thanksgiving last year, I got a suit for my lawyer nephew--a great bargain.
