DH had to have a TEE at the hospital yesterday, so afterwards I had to drive. He was hungry afterwards, so parked in the handicapped spot closest to the door of the restaurant, have a tag.
I kind of was watching a lady wheel a lady in a wheelchair to a car, thinking I should help, of course I couldn't but that is the way my mind works. So I opened the door and was telling him I would come around to his side and help him if her needed any.Starting to get out, and the next thing I was on the ground.
Tried to kind of roll to left side, then laid flat, trying to assess myself. In this beautiful world, immediately the GM, hostess. and three or four people were there to help me up.Now get this, one sweet man actually was wearing oxygen. Of course, they were very concerned, and of course, I felt stupid, again. There was curb next to where I had parked, painted yellow, but I was too involved with the welfare of everyone else, didn't look down, and didn't see it.
The GM came to our booth many times to see how I was, we go there a lot but he would do the same for anyone else. Today I feel like I have kind of been hit by a truck, LOL, but here I am again with all of you nice posters.
The moral of my story. Always pay attention, at any age, and especially age 76!

Mama Mia, oh thank goodness you're okay today. A few bumps and scratches is nothing compared to the damage you could have done to yourself!
People can be so nice and helpful. I'm glad you encountered such lovely, caring people!
Now be careful!

MM ... Please be careful! Just because you know the right thing to do doesn't mean you can still do it. Thank goodness others were there for you, too. Might want to keep the Tylenol out and the heating pad for tomorrow.

Oh, my. Glad you don't have any broken bones. You will be sore for a while. Take it easy for a few days.

Oh, MM... I am so sorry
Do you know why you fell? Were you on cobblestones or something? Maybe you should get looked over, especially if your knee or any other part of you was really hit hard.
From one who knows...
Edit:
Now I see, you fell because of the curb... oh, sweetie.
