@goldensrbest

I have a Hoover similar type machine.  Their instructions say to avoid a fire use only the Hoover brand supplied with the machine.

Your user booklet may say something similar.

I have a Crosswave.  I use Bona hardwood floor cleaner in mine all of the time with no problems.  I use the Bissell cleaner too and sometimes, just water.

Mine is an older model and still works great.  I wouldn't use a cleaner that has alcohol or any oil in it.

I use whatever I would typically use to clean my floors. I've never had a problem.

The Crosswave is one of my favorite purchases!

@elated   The Crosswave IS wet/dry vacuum cleaner.  It is even advertised as such.

I have had the cordless crosswave and now I have the corded model that is also a steam cleaner. I have used Bissell cleaning product as well as othr brands, quite often I use Pine Sol. No problems at all doing so.

Since the Crosswave has a spray nozzle, it needs to be kept free of clogs which can happen with certain cleaners. That doesn't mean you can't use other cleaners. It means you need to run plain water through it after you're done with the cleaner to clear the nozzle with clean water.

I love Bissel products and have had several.  My favorite steam mop was Bissel.  When it stopped working, I got a new model and it was no good Smiley Sad  All my vacs (regular, cordless, steam mop and handheld) are all Shark now.  I use a combo of alcohol and water in my Shark steam mop.  DH just mopped today.  It doesn't have as much steam as the Bissel did tho.  That machine was a beast!  The newer model was a let down.

I just looked at the vacs on the Bissel website.  They still make the Featherweight stick vac.  I have 3 in my master bathroom and one in the laundry room (opposite ends of the house).  I don't use 3 in the north end of the house.  Two are still in boxes in a closet waiting for their turn.  They were $14 back then.   Now they are on sale for $30, normally $35 Smiley Surprised
