George Beverly Shea who sang at the BG crusades was buried in an Angola casket as well.  If you go to the Billy Graham website, there's a video narrated by his grandson Roy, shows the casket being made and the story behind it.

We are taught to be content in our circumstance, whatever it be.

So for these inmates to use their gift in this way really moves me.

I complain about the dumbest stuff in my life sometimes.

And I'm so blessed.

I found the story behind the making of the Graham’s caskets interesting and heartwarming.   I was touched that the names of the men who made the casket was engraved on it.   That simple casket was beautiful and there seemed to be a lot of pride from the inmates who made it.

Billy only had one wife.

You're right, though, about about the construction.

Nice to correct me.

@goldensrbest.  Thank you for this information, it is very interesting. My sister was born in Maine when we lived there long ago and now has a vacation home there.

The plain wooden casket is a wonderful and humble idea for plain and humble people. Not everyone can attest to that!

So many pay so much for the casket,  and he just wanted a simple one for him,and his wife,i think people spend too much on funerals.

Interesting article.  May he rest in peace.

Thank you for posting this @CAcableGirl2.  It was a very interesting article.  I read the article and watched the first video clip.

I heard Billy Graham preach in the early '70's.  My mother took a friend and I.  I will never forget it.

I agree..Billy's not there anyway..To be absent from the body..is to be present with the Lord!!!  I am sure there was a wonderful gathering of all the people Billy witnessed too and saved..I treasure the times my parents and I watched him together..what a blessing!
