@NYC Susan Thank you so much for answering my question.  I greatly appreciate it.  I didn't realize that Mr. Poitier had spoken out against Bill Cosby; I'd never heard that before.  (I guess I could have looked it up on line, but didn't think to do so).

 

 I know it seems silly because he's a movie star and not someone I know or someone who has any effect on my life, but I am breathing a big sigh of relief at your post.  I so admire him and am thrilled to know that he is (and always has been, no doubt) greatly admired by his peers.  It's so refreshing to read something good about someone -- especially when it's someone you've always believed in.
