🤢Biggest Fear w/ Flying!

[ Edited ]

Turbulence!!!

Apparently Dulles is getting the windy part of this NE storm.

Winds 40-50+mph.

Here’s a report from the Aviation Weather Center.

These reports are written in code/etc which only

pilots would understand.  Today....they spelled it out directly.

Twitter is saying for this report to be that descriptive, that’s baaaaaad.

(read the blue highlight part)

Ooooooof!

🤢

@sidsmom, now that’s bad.  I was at a meeting last night.  One of the committee members is flying home today.  I’m on east coast Canada.  Winds here are bad today.  Glad I am not in a plane!  LM

@sidsmom Twitter is on fire with first hand experiences and gratitude for the pilots that get them safely on the ground!

There was a similar report for the southern half of lower Michigan yesterday as the storm passed through. Turbulence is probably the only part of flying that rattles me in the least. I'm flying this weekend, but fortunately not towards the storm, and none of the equipment is coming from that area, so there shouldn't be any problems.

I don't handle turbulence well.  I won't eat or drink prior to a flight.  I pack enough food for everyone on the plane.  LOL.  Once we're well underway, I'll have a snack.

I saw the video of that aborted landing at Washington and my stomach turned. I hate turbulence. My daughter is worse. I admit to taking Xanax when turbulence is predicted. I learned my lesson the hard way years ago. We were flying from Paris to NYC and we came into a thunderstorm. The jet had to land quickly and we landed at an airport north of NYC. The landing was horrific. I was air sick. I won’t let that happen again.

When I have flown before, I was always lucky.  That would be horrendous to hit those winds. They sure did spell it out!! Tell it like it is.
