@CalminHeart I felt the same way when I turned 70....a big 0 to me as well a few weeks ago.  I'm actually going out with a friend to celebrate on Thursday.

I got pretty emotional about it at one point a cried a bit but I'm over (well sort of) it now.

I have a big 0 birthday coming up soon and it's bothering me, has for a while.  Not sure what, if anything, I'll do for my birthday.  Right now would like to treat it as just another day.

A new study has come out about these 10K steps you should do daily.  It says that is way more than you actually need to stay healthy and reduce cardiac issues.  For some reason it's not in my browsing history, but it was around 3500 steps that they said was plenty for one's health.

I was always ok with my birthdays till 65.  The number just LOOKS old (plus it's an odd number and I don't like odd numbers).

I can empathize.  I had open heart surgery (at 65) 7 weeks ago.  Just about the time I think I'm over it, I do something seemingly innocuous and OUCH!!

Celebrating an 18th birthday with a bevy of 18 yr olds was one of those "seemingly innocuous" events (but it wasn't).

I had mine on Feb 26.  I understand all the ouches.  I keep wondering when I am going to heal to the point that I can do anything.  I was told that it takes about a year.  Good luck to you and I'll pray for you.

My age (70) doesn't bother me.  However, the ages of my children does.

@MamaWick My SO married a widowed woman many years ago. She had 4 kids under the age of 7. He thinks of them as his own and he is the only father the younger ones remember. He says that what makes him feel old is realizing that 3 of them collect Social Security lol.

on my birthday I make my annual visit to the Hard Rock casino in Tampa. First we go to one of the nice elegant bars in the hotel so I can have one French 75. My husband drinks his Diet Pepsi, lol. Then in the casino I pick a slot machine and gamble up to the amount of my age. No more. Next month I will gamble $73. I never win but I enjoy the evening and it takes the edge off any anxiety I'm having about the birthday.

I will be 88 Sat.  Still do everything myself. Car, yards, house, shopping, and exercise, Senior zumba, bike and treadmill.

on pedcasts and went to a hometown rock concert last Sat.

I do wish I were 70 though.  Looking in to going back to school to get another degree.  I go a little slower, but not much.

Happy Birthday to everyone and the orginial poster.  Live each day as best as you can.

A younger friend  60 invited me to go wine touring next week.  The one thing that slows me down is the heat.

I absolutely hated turning 60 and those years that came after it.  If someone asked I would say 59+ however many years it was.

This year I will be 70 and not sure how I feel about it yet.

This is my 70th and it's the first one that has bothered me. I loved 65 because I could stop paying my employer $700 a month for lousy medical insurance.
