You might try reading "Man's Search for Meaning" by Victor Frankel.  The part that deals with you/us is in the middle of the book and it will inform you of many aspects of yourself.

My suggestion is to get into "the good Book".  It will tell you anything you need to know about yourself, others, and what is expected of you during your lifetime.  

 

Self help books are written by struggling humans.  Think and look higher.
