Re: Beware of Diffusers if you have a Dog

I have Parrots and no diffusers are allowed. So I am good, I have to be very careful with cleaning. I use water, baking soda and dish detergent. Baking Soda is amazing.

I have an asthmatic cat, so don't use fragrances either.  Even before that I didn't use dryer sheets.  Fabric softeners and dryer sheets make your clohes and towels water repellent.  Plus, they put an invisible film on the dryer filter causing a fire hazard.

[ Edited ]

I cant tolerate pine sol, febreeze and dryer sheets.  I really get nauseated.  Febreeze makes my eyes water as well.  I had to visit a home that reeked  of pine sol.  It was so strong.  As i was sitting there chatting, my cheeks were on fire and my stomach was churning.  I had to leave early and nearly gasped with fresh air as I left home.  I sit in horror thinking of animals or a baby having to deal with odors that potent.  She must have scrubbed the entire tile floored house with solid pine sol!!

..........And 'never mind' the millions of allergy pills people are taking, in order to counteract the effects of all of these scents/strong odors/plug-in types of fresheners/etc., etc.

The problem goes 'round and round and round''..........

I often think of that song 'Circles in Our Minds'  (Thomas Crowne Affair movie).

'More or less', 'Right or wrong', 'In general', and 'Just thinking out loud ' (as usual).

@ROMARY   Truly I dont use these for myself either! I have heard these things and air freshners are not good for humans either espec with asthma or any lung issue or allergies! Same with Dryer Sheets!

@conlt    I have heard so many of these scented things are toxic to precious birdies too and all animals! I am careful how I clean and I do NOT use any toxic cleaners of any kind. YES baking soda is amazing!

Re: Beware of Diffusers if you have a Dog

I use no added scent in my house.  No scented candles, poporri, diffusers, plug in.  Use unscented soaps and anything possible that can be unscented.

One thing is I don't like the smell and I know that it must be agony for my dogs as their sense of smell is 1,000 times ours.  Imagine how strong the odor is for them.  Possible allergy, headaches and worse.

A girl in our office put plug ins in recepticals and I had to ask her to only put it in her office and to keep the door closed.  Makes my nose run and eyes water and also does NOT smell good.
