Beware - forum privacy ?

Someone from here found me on facebook and asked me to be her friend. I found this to be alarming since now that person knows my name and may also know - where I live - my e mail addy and Lord knows what else about me. How can this happen? I did report it to QVC and they are going to call me back with a new account number and PIN # - but my concern is how this could happen in the first place. Be very careful. There are a lot of unstable people on this BB who I don't want to be able to get information about me. I also refused the friend request and FB says that keeps my info private but still - how did she even find my name?
