So sad to hear that Betty has passed just before her 100th birthday.  Now I can't get that song out of my head....'Thank You For Being A Friend'.

“You can’t wait until life isn’t hard anymore to be happy”. (By Nightbirde, singer of the song, It’s Ok)

What a shame.  I had read the same article as @Kachina624 that she was doing great.

And four Mary Tyler Moore show stars in a single year: Cloris, Gavin, Ed and now Betty.

I guess they couldn't wait for her any longer.

Crushing news for the last day of a devilish 2021.  What a lovely human she was.

May her memory be eternal!

From TMZ:

11:44 AM PT -- A source close to Betty tells TMZ ... she didn't have any sudden illness, nor was she battling any particular ailment. We're told she's believed to have died from natural causes. As we told you back in 2020, Betty rarely left her home once the COVID-19 pandemic began.

@Cakers3 Great photos; thanks for posting.

I was just last night watching the first season episodes of MTM on Hulu...thinking, wow, almost all are gone now. Then I thought, "except for Betty White and Cloris Leachman." ***Update...didn't even remember Cloris Leachman died earlier this year.

Betty was the last of them to go.

She had a good run, a great one...but it's still one of those losses that hurts, darn it.

RIP sweet, funny lady

Thanks @patbz for posting.  What an enduring legacy--  a multi-talented, droll, mischievous and intelligent performer, and one who all her life cared for animals and vigorously promoted their welfare.  A great loss.   RIP.

@tansy When you are that old, if you can go while your feeling great it is a blessing!  A big blessing!
