Is this thread just about food and Costco ... if so, then I'm gone.
I gave up cooking and shopping for food ... except once in a great while I'll go to Sam's for their chicken/walnut/cranberries salad.

On the chance that those who were posting on the other thread find their way here (since I'm not sure what is happening now), I'm going to post what I was trying to post yesterday morning when the thread turned into "read only" and wouldn't let me (when that happened, I saved it in Word because I didn't know what was going on). I was getting back to those who had asked about me and some of what was going on in my life, which I appreciated so much, and to tell others how sorry I was about their problems. I know Ford wants to post, so I hope she finds her way here or wherever most or all of us wind up... I just hope we can all get together again. So here it is... (from Tuesday morning)...
Good morning, ladies! I've been trying to catch up on everything this morning... I was quieter than usual last night and probably will be today. My silly fall yesterday a.m. has taken a little more of a toll than I first thought. My carpet burned knee hurts no matter what I put on it... I did have a carpet burn or two in my younger days, (if you know what I mean),
but they didn't hurt so much! My muscles are sore, my knees and bruised feet are bothering me, so I'm taking it easy, and I have moved the boxes!
I hate hearing that so many of you have been suffering from crazy weather and headaches. Hope you all feel better today. And MGM, I'm sorry you lost some of your hostas, but I can't help imagining those happy bunnies!
Ford, I lost my SIL and my BIL to lung cancer just in the last 2-1/2 years.. it's a very hard thing to deal with. I'm so sorry about your sister.
An update on the talk with my dr's office yesterday... no meds for the tick bite. Just watch it and be aware of any symptoms... although I have so many "symptoms" of things on a regular basis, not sure how I would tell the difference. The bites are healing well and not itching today, but I will definitely stay aware. And since we were talking about diabetes, etc. the other night, and my barely "pre" condition, she said she doesn't normally have someone check their blood sugar, but she is sending in a prescription for a tester, etc. and I will check with my Part D to see what the co-pay is. I may go ahead and get it so I can make sure I'm on the right track to prevent any progression.
I'll be checking back in today and see what's going on... and welcome to those joining us! I think this thread has evolved in such a great way, and it's been so much fun... ![]()
Hope everybody has a wonderful day!

Good morning! Contractor just left-- did a replacment of the trim around a PVC post to a railing off of my patio. Now it looks fine. He also cut a small piece of paving stone to fit into a spot that was missing one near my garden shed.
He will be back tomorrow with his assistant to see why one gutter is having rain drip at the back of it during heavy rainfall. The gutter may need to be rehung and pitched properly.

Kittymom- I hear you on the falls. A dear friend wrote yesterday afternoon that she tripped over a twig. Yes, a twig. Down she went. She broke an ankle several years ago and now that ankle hurts-she has a plate and accompanying screws. Her wrist, arm, shoulder, etc are all sore and bruised. Worst of all? Her Kindle broke. That's how she phrased it. She swears she's fine this morning, just achy and her formerly broken ankle shows no signs of a real injury. She's just mad that it was 1. a twig and 2. her Kindle. A new one has already been ordered, courtesy of her husband.
I'm watching where I put my feet today.

Oh Kittymom, I was afraid you would be feelin' that fall today. I've been a bit clumsy all my life (my poor mom) and have a lot of experience treating cuts, scrapes, etc.
For the rug burn,(and else that is really sore), the very best thing is a really old OTC treatment, Campho-Phenique. It really takes the soreness away. I especially love it for a torn cuticle or a nail broken back too far. Campho-Pheniqe and a bandaid over night and the soreness is gone next day.
For your rug burn, apply and cover lightly with breathable gauze.

They also make a gel that is amazing for cold sores, but I recommend the liquid for your rug burn, because it's an oil base and that injury needs the moisturization.
