My daughter with whom I live, who has Lyme Disease and has been very distant for the time we've been together . . . HUGGED ME yesterday!!  I put my arms out and she came over and hugged me!!

I think she may be getting better . . . more like her old self.

Oh, please let this last!!

@LilacTree That is some happy news.The hug holds the cure for so many of our troubled relationships.A hug to me is the transfer of positive energy and healing between two people.

@dex

I agree wholeheartedly, especially when one has waited for so long.  She is feeling better and that is the greatest Christmas gift I could ever get.

@Trinity11

She has been getting weekly IVs with vitamins and supplements.  No meds at all.  It takes about two hours and there are others in the room with her.  She said sometimes they talk and sometimes they just rest.

She is also going weekly to a newly opened spa that offers what is called "floating."  She enjoys that too.

I have heard that chronic Lyme does abate in about six years and that's about how long she's had it.  She doesn't think that's true, but I do.  Her daughter, my granddaughter, agrees with me that she is much better since she's been off constant antibiotics, which is all the other doc ever gave her and when she was the sickest.

@LilacTreeSo much is unknown about this devastating illness. I saw a week report on a local news channel about people who were suffering from it. They had to turn to alternative medicine to get any relief. The medical community will catch up someday but one wonders just how long it will take. Meanwhile, your daughter had to find her own way to get healthier. Let's just hope this is a new beginning for her.

Years ago I was finally diagnosed with interstitial cystitis after finding no relief. I was very young when I started with it and nobody thought someone young had it. Finally, I found a doctor who recognized it and just knowing from the cystoscopy under sedation, that I did indeed have it (Proof), helped me immensely. Now there is an entire website devoted to those suffering from it....back then there was little to no support.

I am getting over the flu....hoping that by Christmas I will be over it. The kids are coming and I have everything wrapped and ready. My grandson is 5, so this will be a big year for him. Heart
