She has been getting weekly IVs with vitamins and supplements. No meds at all. It takes about two hours and there are others in the room with her. She said sometimes they talk and sometimes they just rest.
She is also going weekly to a newly opened spa that offers what is called "floating." She enjoys that too.
I have heard that chronic Lyme does abate in about six years and that's about how long she's had it. She doesn't think that's true, but I do. Her daughter, my granddaughter, agrees with me that she is much better since she's been off constant antibiotics, which is all the other doc ever gave her and when she was the sickest.
I’m really very happy for you and your daughter to read this! I feel the answer is in vitamins and supplements. Long term use of antibiotics is terrible for the body. I’m so glad she has a doctor who is giving her what her body needs.
This is going to be a beautiful, blessed Christmas season for you, @LilacTree! Now, we need to get you feeling well.

She has been through hell and back with this horrific disease. Doctors have laughed at her, told her she was psychotic, accused her of lying, never qualified her for disability (they didn't believe she was too sick to work) . . . and all the while she was going through a horrific divorce and couldn't afford an attorney. A lot more I could say, but I won't.
It finally came down to she had nowhere to live. That's when I rented this apartment and we've been here over two years already. Up to then I had been living quite comfortably in a senior apartment facility, but there was no way I could see one of my kids have to live month to month on skid row, which was her only choice.
I must have written about it here, since that's what I do. It's like heaven now . . . and to see her decorating for Christmas and just being interested in life again. No words can describe it.
I'm so glad to hear you were finally diagnosed. You were so young and not to know why you were sick must have been devastating.
I do believe I might have IC. Hopefully I will find out tonight when the doctor calls. Most of the information on that is in Wellness.
I wish for you a glorious Christmas . . . over the flu and able to enjoy it with your five-year-old grandson. Is there anything better than that?

I should know by tonight when my doctor calls re the ultrasounds I had, what this might be. Most of the information on that is in Wellness, so I won't repeat it here.
Thank you for your kind thoughts.

Hey LT! Yay! I'm so glad for you and her. Here's hoping things open up and you two will have a great relationship.
I don't have a relationship with my so-called mother and always wished I could. Well, that would have to involve my mother being a different person because the one I got is a horrible, hateful, self-serving person.
But I've seen great mother/daughter relationships over the decades and always thought that must be really awesome! i just always wished mine would have loved me and figured that would have been a good place to start. I tried numerous times, even though it was not I who was doing the damage. finally had to realize that it was time to stop trying.
I'm glad that you two might be trying.
Best!!

This brings tears to my eyes! It shows that it isn't anything you've been doing or not doing. This is strictly her inner feelings and thoughts. I've got an idea! Put your arms out again and again!!!!

She had just fixed something we were going to throw away. We always used to call her Miss Fix-it because even as a child, she used to fix things. She was so pleased and that's what she was happy about. It brought back the little daughter I knew.
Yes, I will put my arms out more and more. I don't expect she will be like this all the time, but you're right that I kept blaming myself and I won't do that anymore.
Life is so complicated!!
