We have 6 cats who live in our utility/area which has a door to our family room. We currently use Fresh Step clumping which is very good at controlling oder, and ease in cleaning the litter boxes.

The cats drag litter into the family room, and also alot of dust. The dust must be the part of the litter which causes it to clump. I have to run the sweeper and attachments every other day, to keep the family room pretty clean.

Should I get to a non clumping litter, to solve the dust problem? A fine layer of dust covers most everything in my utility area. It's starting to get old. I imagine it gets stirred up every time the cats use the 5 litter boxes, plus when we fill and clean them.
