See's is my all time favorite and they may have some sort of chocolate of the month offer. We have a very good local chocolatier here but I treat myself every Christmas to a box of See's, preferring to give my business to locals. You may check in her hometown and see if there's a local business who could do this for you. Years ago, I worked with a lady whose husband lived and worked in Belgium. When he would come to town, he always brought boxes of those chocolates. I have to say I've never had any as good as they were and I don't even remember the name. Good luck, I think it's a wonderful gift!

@Bettyanne One word - Godiva.
Pull up Godiva Chocoltier online, they have beautiful chocolates at any price point, have them delivered if your daughter is out of town.
Godiva, when I want wonderful beautiful chocolates, this is the only place I buy.

Someone here is going to have to take one for the team and do a taste test.
Any volunteers?

A matter of loyalty to a small business near the town where I grew up: Gowell's chocolates are really nice. They have a mail-order business--or at least used to--I ordered Gowell's all around as gifts one year recently.
They are located on Main Street in Brockton, MA (the boxers Rocky Marciano and "Marvelous" Marvin Hagler came out of this tough-town back in their day--the 1950s and 1980s). The Gowell's chocolates are super good if you happen to live near Brockton. I like Sees chocolates, too. ![]()

I love anything Godiva, but my in-laws swear by See's.

@RNbynite wrote:@Bettyanne .....Believe it or not, Aldi has delicious chocolate.....imported from Belgium/Germany. Great prices and sooooo smooth, creamy and as good as more expensive brands.
I agree @RNbynite . I tried it after one of the employees told me how good it was. I was skeptical because I like good chocolate. I was not disappointed. I think it’s better than Godiva.

My favorite is Hersey's with almonds. Also love the Lindt truffles and Godiva dark chocolate with almonds.
