"‘Best Bald Dad’ Award: Father Gets Head Tattoo To Match Son’s Cancer Scar"
"While there are many “Best Bald Dads” out there, Josh Marshall definitely took the cake for this year’s St. Baldrick’s award.
The Kansas man noticed that his young son, who’s been battling brain cancer, was insecure about a scar left behind on his head after surgery.
So, in order to help his child feel better about himself, Josh decided to shave his own head AND get a tattoo to match his son’s. Talk about an amazing father!
“Me and my son at this year’s St. Baldrick’s event in Wichita, Kansas,” Josh captioned his “Best Bald Dad” Award submission. “Got my son’s scar tattooed to help his self confidence.”
And it comes as no surprise that his photo was the winner, nabbing first place with over 5,000 votes and bragging rights for Josh as the world’s best bald dad.
And we have to say that Josh totally deserves the title given by the childhood cancer charity organization!
His son, Gabriel Marshall, who is now 8 years old, was diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer called anaplastic astrocytoma in March 2015.
And the various surgeries he’s had to go through to remove his tumor, left him bald with a scar on the right side of his head.
“My son was very self-conscious after he got his surgery. He felt like a monster,” Josh revealed to ABC News.
So, in August 2015, the loving dad decided to do something about it — and that’s when he got his head tattoo. “I said, ‘You know what, I’ll get your scar tattooed.
That way, if people want to stare at you, then they can stare at both of us.’”
Gabriel reportedly loves his dad’s tattoo and tells people he and his father are like twins. Aw!
And while Gabriel is not yet cancer free, his dad said that his tumor hasn’t grown and that he receives scans once every three months."

I saw this on news tonight -- such a sweet boy and such a devoted dad.
I cried after seeing the 💗 His dad has and more importantly, that sweet young child facing such a horrible disease so young. When my son was diagnosed it was like the end of the world and my other son got a tattoo for him and shaved his head.
