Prime Day is a great perk as well. This last prime day I got a new microwave for about $60, currently priced about $100. Amazon often offers special deals on their own brands exclusively for prime members. You get free access to a selection of new books too.

@spent2muchdo you live in the same household?  In order to share your Prime Benefits with others, they must reside in the same household.  I can't share my Prime benefits with my son in another household.  We shared it before he moved out though.

Otherwise, you can shop under one another's accounts if they give you that information to log on with and shop.

@gertrudecloset  No, we don't.  I actually don't know how she set it up.  I do have her log on info.  ?

Not a comment on the poster because I don't know her situation, but I have heard about a lot of people who actually are sharing their Prime benefits with people outside their household and I'm convinced that that is one BIG reason that the price keeps going up for the rest of us.  Smiley Sad

@chickenbutt  if this is true, then they must have the account holder's log on credentials and use the payment method on file.  If you go to the website and try to "share your membership" it clearly, clearly, states the sharing MUST be with a member of your household.  That has always been the case to my knowledge.

Thanks for that info.  That's good to know and, hopefully, it stops some people from cheating.  Smiley Happy

@chickenbutt  Well, I sure didn't know we were cheating.  She has several names and addresses under her account.  That's all I know about it.

Re: Benefits of Prime

[ Edited ]

I watch Prime videos for free on my iPad and TV. Great content.I watch more on Prime then I have been watching on my Netflix and DirecTV. There is also free music. There is also a discount if you shop in person at Whole Foods. There are two online grocery stores, Amazon Fresh and Whole Foods that deliver in just a couple hours with no added delivery charge or service fee. Prices are good on Amazon Fresh. You order online, so easy. It's also less hassle to order from them than ordering from Publix with Instacart because when they say the item is in stock, it's actually in stock, while with Publix, I have to watch my iPad along with the Instacart shopper in order to make constant substitutions. I have do do this even if I preset my substitutions. I will say that Amazon Fresh does not always have the brands I prefer and I have not tried ordering raw meat, fish or chicken yet. Prices for my total orders are much lowers than with Instacart because the products are prices are less to begin with and there are less fees to deliver, this leads to lower sales tax as well. I still tip, but since I tip a percentage of the total, my tips are lower than Instacart too.  If you need items such as band aids, Tylenol, soap, Tide, gloves,  you can get the items delivered very fast...from one to two days. Saves a lot of trips to the store. Unlike Walmart, I don't need a $35 minimum when I want just a couple of items either.

Then she just lets you shop from her account.  You're not a secondary member.  Secondary members have some of the same privileges that Prime Members do. @spent2much

It's true that Amazon prices are not always the best but in my experience the prices that are off the chart come from individual vendors and not Amazon itself.

It is also true that it does same time running around trying to find certain items, especially for DH and DS.

One word of caution, though.  I was looking at some Vera Bradley bags and there were patterns that were quite old-over a year-that you will not be able to purchase from VB anymore.  I have no clue where Amazon obtained them; and some reviews indicated tags were missing and/or the bags "smelled used".

Knock-offs can be a problem.

One thing that doesn't work for me is Subscribe & Save.  I guess the stuff I try to add isn't very popular.  My stuff is usually delayed or cancelled.  I don't think I've had more than 2 items on S&S at any one time due to them always being delayed or cancelled.

@VaBelle35,  when you want to put something on subscribe and save do you check to see if it is from a third party vendor?  If so try to find the item fulfilled/shipped and/or sold by Amazon.  In that case you are more likely to get the items.

I thought they are always fulfilled by Amazon.  Because I get an email saying they are trying to find my item for me or something.  I didn't think you could subscribe to something from a third party.  But I'll check the one I have right now.  Thanks.

I love Amazon prime.  Usually whatever I need I can get it within 2 days.  I also have found prices for the same thing much lower than QVC. I just received sandals today from Amazon in 2 days with a much lower price than QVC's.  I saw the sandals on QVC and checked Amazon for them and they were much cheaper than QVC.

I know there are not many of us, but I’m 20 miles (one way) from the nearest store.
