Bee Gees on PBS

[ Edited ]

I'm watching the Bee Gees' 1997 concert on PBS, "One Night Only" at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas with Barry, Robin, and Maurice. I am blown away by how incredible they sounded live -- just as good as their recordings. The music is incredible. Olivia Newton-John is in the audience.

It has really lifted my spirits on this cold and snowy day.  :-)

LOVED them!   So sad that only one of them is left.  Smiley Sad

Great music, though.   I loved a lot of the music of the disco time period.  I don't know why it got such a bad rap.

I've seen this several times, it's excellent.  It makes me sad, too that only Barry is still around.

There is another live concert with Andy Gibb that they show occasionally as well.

@chickenbutt, I can't say I was a big fan of the disco era, but it did turn out a lot of great music.

i saw them in concert.  it was a wonderful show.  very, very talented brothers.  one thing that has always stuck in my mind is maurice with his bright, bright red hair that was shoulder length.  it was very striking.

eta:  after seeing the video of robin's funeral, i think maybe he was the one with the bright red hair.

BEE GEE's my fav!

purchased the CD "One night only" and mostly love the song "This is just where I came from"

Intro: https://youtu.be/WGLh7rUqW1M

I thought the song "This is just where I came in"

(https://youtu.be/VMi8jSfn1mw) was on "One Night Only" too but I guess not. I must have played both CDs interchangeably during that time in my life.

By far one of the most talented group of songwriters in music history. They have written more songs for other performers than most folks even realize.

It truly is sad that Barry is the only one still alive.

This video of Robin's funeral procession through his village is very touching, especially his two dogs who participated.

@SaRina

I'm really bummed that I missed this!!  Maybe ON DEMAND will have a replay.  They were so innovative both in their early music and their disco period.  Not to mention how good they were to look at!!  I have many of their CDs.
