Yes I missed the clock on the cable box too. The cable person said they had a lot of people complain when it went away....but also said a fair number of people said they didn't mind because they never knew how to set it.

We purchased inexpensive digital alarm clocks...which we never used for the alarms...just the time. They have a lot on Amazon...think we got ours at Target. We got one that is dimmable so the light wouldn't bother us.

I have something similar to this.  You can adjust the brightness of the clock on the model that I use.

We have a digital clock in every bedroom and one sitting under the living room TV.  I am a clock watcher.

I have battery backup styles so that with a power outage they will not flash or have to be reset.

I need 3 alarm clocks to wake me up.   One of them also has the room temperature:

Oh yes, I've always kept a clock on my bedside table.

I have a Timex right now.  One that resets itself if the power goes out and when the time changes twice a year.  Adjustable brightness and has a radio with two separate alarms too.

I need one with numbers large enough to see without my glasses in the middle of the night.

@geezerette

Would you mind posting which one you have or sharing a link to it please! I really want to get one and this one sounds perfect!!!

I'm afraid mine is so old that it's no longer manufactured.

But as others have mentioned, Walmart and other like-type stores carry similar models, as does Amazon.  You can choose which model has the features you prefer.

Also if you do want to check the Timex brand specifically, their clock website is www (dot) timexaudio (dot) com.

In my bedroom I have a small Echo Show, one of the early ones.  It shows the time in a bright white color during the day.  But it knows when the sun goes down/time gets later, the numbers change to a soft amber.  It even goes completely dark and softly transitions to that soft amber, so that it doesn't show anything at night at all most of the time.

I live alone now and telework.  So I don't even open my eyes if I want to know what time it is during the night.  I just say, "Alexa what time is it?"

LOL! This is what dh said I should do!Smiley LOL

Re: Bedroom Clock?

[ Edited ]

@Starpolisher I have this one from Amazon that projects onto a ceiling or wall (if you want it to do so) in addition to having the regular display. It has a curved screen and looks very sleek. You can get three levels of brightness in blue, red, or white numbers. The projection can be red, green or blue depending on which clock you choose. I have white numbers with red projection. I loved it so much that I bought another one to put in my home office to easily see the time while I'm watching TV.

@Starpolisher   Our cable box does not show the time.  DH and I each have a small clock radio next to our beds.  Works for us!

I have an Amazon Echo on my nightstand.

@Starpolisher I only use the clock on my cable box. I am afraid the cable company will say I have to "upgrade" and I will lose the clock.

I have 2 clocks on my nightstand and I still only look at the cable box clock. It is so easy to read even from many feet away. Don't need my glasses.

We use small inexpensive ones in the family room and in the bedroom, but DH has a clock radio on his bedstand since he still goes to work each weekday. It's one thing I miss in the motorhome....should buy one for in there but I hate to always reset the darned things!
