(Upon reading some of the comments below this video, I found both negative and positive. I think the whole idea was "acceptance," which, to me, is absolutely positive.)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The perfect body is a myth for magazine covers and fitness video stars—the rest of us can only love what we've got.

For disabled people who have disorders such as scoliosis or brittle bone problems, the straight posture and physical perfection of a mannequin can feel like a taunt.

By comparison, their bent forms may seem odd and disjointed to some viewers.

In this video, the idealized forms are reworked to fit the shape of real disabled people in Germany. The project from Pro Infirmis, a professional organization for the disabled, "is designed to provoke reflection on the acceptance of people with disabilities."

To do that, traditional store mannequins are cut apart and reworked to fit the measurements of disabled people.

The responses—from the public and the subjects of the transformation—will amaze you. And they'll remind you no one thinks he or she is perfect, but we all are in our own way.
