@songbird wrote:I never thought of our oceans as filthy as they really are until I saw a door. A door floating in the middle of the Indian ocean during that hunt for that Malaysian airliner that went down. How a door got there, I will never know. But it was a shock. And it made me think of all marine life below. It's really terrible. And there isn't anything that will fix it.
last year our area of delaware had a horrible electrical storm with very high winds and rain. there were so many beach umbrellas that were swept up into the ocean that were never recovered. it was a crazy scene that came out of nowhere. people were so lucky to not have been hurt.

well, as things usually go more and more sea mamals will be found dead on beaches ,. they have never stopped many countries from dumping tons of garbage in the oceans either . Wait till we have a big pile up of all those lithium based batteries that only last abt 5-6 yrs ( approx 70,000 miles ) and need replacement . They cannot be recharged and need to be buried becuse they are highly flammable and toxic to the environment . Where do you think these will be dumped in the desert ? or ocean where all the other garbage goes.

@Isobel Archer wrote:Well we already know windmills kill eagles and other birds and we apparently don't care so even if it's determined that the whales/dolphins suffered due to wind power expansion, I doubt anything will change.
@Isobel Archer The oceans are polluted with plastics and microplastics are now found in marine life, million gallons of oil spilled every decade in our oceans, over-fishing is depleting baitfish and destroying ecosystems, global temperatures are rising causing ocean acidification and the destruction of coral reef habits--and you're concerned about the relatively benign impact of windmills on the environment?!? 🙄

The fossil fuel lobbies would be proud of how many people on these boards regurgitate their lies, misinformation, and gross exaggerations in the face of easily accessible facts.

Seems to me, you're choosing to ignore some things.

@ThinkingOutLoud I could say the same of you.

Have seen several stories on the news going back months about whales. Now it's dolphins?
What's happening?
Trace back to what's changed in their environment. It is pretty easy for me to see the most likely cause.
