If a ball hit me? I would do the same thing I do when at the ice rink and kids are playing with rubber balls or rubber pucks. Should they hit me with one I will put it in my pocket or some other place for safe keeping. At the rink I give it to the attendant and let her/him make sure to keep it until the offenders are leaving the premises.

I don't think this is going to fly at the beach!!

Hey, if it has got air in it? Easy to deflate these things. If nothing else use it for a pillow or something.

I always carry a paper clip so I can deflate any hard balls that come flying at me when I'm at the beach!!
It sits at the bottom of my tote bag, waiting to be put into use... someday...somewhere....

DUCK NOW!

Re: Beach Etiquette - some people need to learn

Yeah that's rude. When I would go to the beach we would throw a beach ball or Frisbee in early mornings or later in the evening when the beach is empty. By the way coincidentally I just bought my grandkids big sand buckets (with castle shapes) and a Frisbee to take to Ocean City MD next week lol. I did tell them not to throw the Frisbee if the beach is packed, but they said they know that..lol.
