Disney, where do these people come from? I like the idea of hanging near the lifeguard tower. I'll start doing this. Good idea. Do you think the same folks who misbehave at the beach, misbehave at stadium parking lots while tailgating? My grandson almost got knocked down when a guy holding a beer ran to catch a football. Some people were raised by wolves...

Sense of entitlement. They think they own the beach.

I think wolves behave better than some humans.

Yes, the little boy got his by the ball. Could have been worse if it hit my daughter in the head.
If I were guessing I would say this family behaves this way no matter where they are. So yes, if they're obnoxious at the beach they probably are the same at a tailgater.
I love Newport beach but Huntington is so much easier to park and unload when you have kids. by myself I would drive on to Newport or over to Laguna.

I'm howling in agreement!

Some people get to the beach once in their lifetime. They don't know the rules, but they know what they see on tv or the internet. They try to emulate and experience everything at one time. Yes, they make mistakes. Yes, they don't know the rules. Yes, they can be rude if you are rude to them. Instead of screaming at them, you might want to help them understand what is the correct way to enjoy what you get to enjoy more often. Some of us know this, but some don't. Try to respect that fact just like you expect them to respect you.

If a ball hit me? I would do the same thing I do when at the ice rink and kids are playing with rubber balls or rubber pucks. Should they hit me with one I will put it in my pocket or some other place for safe keeping. At the rink I give it to the attendant and let her/him make sure to keep it until the offenders are leaving the premises.

I don't think this is going to fly at the beach!!
""Now I'm keeping it""

I don't worry about sports at the beach, but I do wonder how some people think they can ride a bike on the sand during high tide when it is wall to wall people with no extra room.
