Re: Be honest, can you parallel park?

Yes, driving a straight shift, on either side of the road, and even on a circle, such as around the courthouse circle.

Re: Be honest, can you parallel park?

I can parallel park perfectly on an empty street.

I have managed it when forced to, but I need a calming pill when I'm done. We had to pass this test in Driver's Ed. I think my teacher was loopy half the time and just gave us all passing marks (except for the girl that tried to drive us off a cliff).

Yes. Sometimes I don't get as close to the curb as I'd like.

Yes, I can parallel park, and granted I'm on my second cocktail for the evening, but I can't seem to figure out how parallel parking changes depending on the side of the street you're on.

I can see it being  more difficult to park on the left side.

I can't parallel park but my son got it first try.He couldn't pull into a parking lot space...he would get so frustrated.

What is a straight shift?  Is that the same as a stick shift?

That's the reason I do not parallel park. I can do it in three moves, but if I know I have to parellel park I take my old car and not my new car. lol

Re: Be honest, can you parallel park?

Yes my father taught me how to drive and was determined to teach me as if his life depended on it lol after a few near misses I finally did it and just kept practicing till I got it

it, later on he taught me how to drive a stick shift.

I parallel park at least once a week, and a few years ago I taught my nephew how to do so in a local Hilton parking lot.   Now, every time I parallel park, I think of my nephew.    Heart
