Basic Kindle--Touch or regular with buttons?

Anyone have any input on this? I'm getting presents and don't know which to get. I myself would hate to be without the buttons or the click places on the frame to turn pages. But I love the ability to swipe and turn pages too. With the basic Kindles don't you have to go with one or the other????
