Baseball is back!

Ever the optimist against all odds (that means, "stupid" {#emotions_dlg.biggrin}) I woke up at 2:30 am (DST) to listen to the Mariners first game of the season, against the Oakland A's, in Tokyo.

And here's the most amazing fact of all: they WON!!! The Mariners actually WON on opening day!

Well, don't get excited; they've won on opening day before and gone on to have a truly miserable season. If this year they're as bad as they were last year, I foresee many changes in management.

I have a bet riding on this, too, with my physical therapist. If the M's have a record of .500 or more, I owe him a 6-pack of Corona; if their record is .499 or worse, he owes me the same thing. This is one bet I think I'm going to win.

But, anyway, I'm happy to see the boys of summer back. Good luck, everyone!
