Bark collar question

Trying to learn about them. Do you consider them humane? They don't SOUND like a nice thing, but a co-worker said "oh, it just gives them a little sensation until they learn not to bark." hmmm

Got lots to learn. Called my vet and waiting on a return call.

Google is next.

Anyone have anything to share?
