Inclusivity has gone too far? Children with Down Syndrome exist as do children who are blind. They should be excluded?

I couldn't agree more about comments on these forums, makes me want to buy one of these Barbies actually.

@Greeneyedlady21 - if it were THEIR child or grandchild or niece....

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

I love it, not from any kind of "correctness" standpoint.

It's neat to have dolls that simply show the variety in humans, and how they cope.  My bottom line is that we are, every one of us, created in a certain image, and derive our infinite value from that.  You don't have to conform to a man-made "ideal"--  our variety as humans demonstrates that.

Kids like all kinds of dolls, and many would gravitate to these, so bring 'em on.

I would buy. My youngest daughter is severely and extremely impaired cerebral palsy. She’s 26 but mentally an 18 month old and tube fed, etc…… My point is, she may not be aware of different Barbie’s out there, but I love that there is more inclusive Barbie’s available for kids/young adults with disabilities that are more aware than my daughter

@THEY CallMe Mr Wilkes  The doll pictured here is not the only Barbie with Down Syndrome. There is blonde Barbie too.

Some additional items listed with the blonde Barbie:

  • Her pink pendant necklace has three arrows to represent the third 21st chromosome that individuals with Down syndrome have, and they point outwards to represent rising up and moving forward.
  • Barbie doll’s pink ankle foot orthoses (AFOs) match her outfit perfectly and support her as she walks, while her white sneakers have a zipper detail so kids can easily slip them on and off!

I saw this on my local news. I love that Mattel puts out different dolls, every child should feel represented.

Amazon has good prices on these Barbies, and there are several different versions.i have a gift card balance there and I'm considering ordering one and putting it away (not in a gift closet) for Toys For Tots

@THEY CallMe Mr Wilkes   The comments regarding Barbie in a wheelchair and Barbie with a prosthetic leg were no better.👎
