I am with you. I can count at least 4 bagel shops within 2 miles of me in NJ. We are spoiled!!!

NJ here too- I've found very few bagel places in NJ that are like NY bagels. The NJ bagels tend to be really 'bready'- and/or  puffed with extra yeast. There's one franchise that has several locations in  the area (I'm in Somerset Cty)  - and they're JUST like my NY roots !!!

Howdy neighbor!  Somerset cnty as well! What place are you going to?

Bagels 4 U !!!  Locally, there are two on Rt 206, one also near the community college.   Their nova spread is unbelievable too!

I buy them in their store on Bleecker St. In NY .  I like them ,DH doesn't but he's not much of a bagel person.  It's amazing how filling they are.  ONe usually fills me.  It's like eating the crustiest part of the bagel with the cream cheese.

I'm going to order them from the Q because I want to try different flavors and I like the idea of having them conveniently in the freezer. Hope you enjoy your order.

Thanks, @ANewHue.  I too wanted multiple portions I could freeze & take out a few at a time. I can buy any old bagel or whatever some businesses decide to call a bagel anywhere, but I'm used to better - stopping by the shop and getting them warm. But I no longer have that option, so thought I'd try these.

Although I love cream cheese on my bagels, it wouldn't have mattered to me if these weren't filled, I would have just bought my own. But I'll be interested to see if the filling "makes or breaks" these.

@Moonchilde  Let me know if you like them after you try them. 😊

Good bagels are hard to find, unless you live on the East Coast.

We have a great local bagel maker where I live, so I feel lucky. I practically live on bagels. Smiley Happy

But, if these on the Q looked good to you, I'd say, try them!

@I am still oxox  You are sooooo lucky.  There is nothing like a New York bagel.  Nobody believes me when I tell them it's the water.  We always got them at a bagel bakery, freshly made.  Nothing like them anywhere in the world.......  It's that NY water.

It must be the water! Lol we have a new bagel place called Brooklyn Water Bagel. They are the best I've ever tried. I live in the south and grew up on biscuits. Had my first bagel when I was in my early 20s.  Brueggers is good too, but the Brooklyn 'water Bagels are wonderful!

@Moonchilde  That's perfect timing for the cooler months!  Do you know how many times I wished I had some in the freeZer?  I hope you enjoy them and I look forward to hearing your review.

I probably won't, but around mid-September if it starts to get at all cold, I might order a smaller amount from their website ;-)

The price is about equal between QVC and the website when you factor in that you get six more from QVC.

@I am still oxox  So, you're a West Bronxite..... I'm from the East Bronx and went to James Monroe HS.  As a teen, I had some friends who lived on Grand Ave and Harrison Ave.  I think I went to Jr. High (Herman Ridder) with them.

I am sure it's the water in New York.  I remember hearing that all my life.

ETA - I would have gotten back to you earlier but I had to leave to go to my Retina Specialist to get my eye injection..  Then, we stopped at Publix.  There's a new brand of bagels in the frozen food section.  It's called Ray's Bialys.  Have you ever had a bialy????  I wonder how many people here have ever heard of bialys........ LOL

@I am still oxox we are so spoiled! I'm also in the suburbs of NYC and get great bagels. Not as good as bagels from Brooklyn and Manhattan (my opinion they are the best), but pretty darned good!

However, nobody out here knows how to make a bialy. They don't look like bialies or taste like bialies. They barely put any onions in the middle and they have no flavor. However, they make pretty good "flagels."

Just give me a nice fresh sesame bagel with a shmear of scallion cream cheese, nova lox, a slice of tomato and a slice of red onion. Oh yeah, that's heaven Heart
