I agree. I wish she would pull that particular rug out from under them but doubt she will.

On the other hand, I'm not sure many folks are going to be rushing to buy their 'brand' of goods, especially now... Letting them go forward might just serve to make them look still more foolish than they already do... A tad arrogant, I'd say, to assume the public would be all that interested in Sussex stationary and so on...

Re: Balanced and Insightful Interview Today: Harry's Friend and a Royal Expert Talk

There have been rumors of them splitting their time between North American and the UK and even Africa, since they were first rumored to be dating.

This is not some new thing they drummed up over the holidays.  Which is why I think they were tired of waiting for Charles to paint or get off the ladder.

This whole situation is not new to this family and I can't believe none of them were sympathetic to the situation.

I just think Charles was dragging his feet and Harry wasn't havingn any of it.  Charles had plenty of time to work on it over the holiday break.  He chose not to.

Except those don't appear to be the facts. As has now been stated several times, the reports, assuming they are accurate, say Harry approached his father with a rudimentary plan about a month or so ago. Charles indicated he was willing to discuss it but wanted Harry to flesh out a plan on paper. The plan was sent to Charles over the holidays who said he wanted to meet to discuss details when Harry returned. The queen reportedly said she'd agree to meet after Harry and Charles met to work out details. Harry and Meghan were the ones who took themselves out of the mix for six weeks, while they were off in North America... Harry and Meghan are the ones requesting these changes, it wan't up to Charles to work on it over the holidays... It was up to them to simply do what they were asked to do but instead, it was also reported, they advised Charles and William of their 'going public' about ten minutes before they did what they were asked not to do...

They use as an excuse that one of the British newspapers had gotten wind of this situation and they wanted to get their message out there before the newspaper did, which is just ridiculous. Even if a newspaper printed a related article, they still should have stuck to the agreement made to meet with Charles before putting anything out themselves. They didn't do that and hence created an uproar where none needed to be created. Yet another instance of questionable judgment...

Charles should not have to work it out over Christmas.  This is a huge issue that should have been considered over a long period with a lot of legal and government input.  Something like that that is so very complicated with so many parties involved can't be dashed off over a holiday.

I agree.  Maybe we will see the"brand" here at qvc, towels and such.  LOL

I do think they need to shut down the brand; I wonder how they even got as far as they did with creating it.

I don't think the stumbling block is necessarily where they live... At this point, there's probably some thought that the further away they are the better off the rest of the royals will be... It appears the stumbling block is their opting out of royal duties they're being paid to perform and their desire to essentially 'market' their ducal brand independently of the royal family, while their titles were bestowed upon them by the queen with a different understanding of what their roles were to be... In essence, they want to change horses mid-stream, but without having worked out mutually agreed upon details, Moreover, the portion of their royal income they seem willing to give up is a very small portion, the bulk of their income being provided them via Prince Charles...

@occasionalrain. Methinks Charles and the Queen probably do. Especially Charles.

Re: Balanced and Insightful Interview Today: Harry's Friend and a Royal Expert Talk

I think it telling that Meghan is keeping his son from Harry during the negotiations.

I no longer believe Meghan ever intended to remain in London as a member of the family. Her career was going nowhere and she was closer to 40 than 30.  This plan, if approved, will evolve into more and more time n Canada and less in the UK.

I think it's past time for accommodating and time for taking a hard line. They should insist that Meghan return to the UK along with Archie before any negotiations go forward.

I believe the Queen can prevent them from taking Archie out of England and should.

Re: Balanced and Insightful Interview Today: Harry's Friend and a Royal Expert Talk

It seems that what folks needs to keep in mind is that Meghan and Harry are not some wet behind the ears, 20-something young middle class couple starting out in the world and wanting to spread their wings... Both are pushing 40 and both should be well aware of the reality that they are members of a centuries old royal family, with roles, responsibilities, protocols and expectations that go along with the perks... It simply wasn't and isn't reasonable or realistic to expect that all they needed do was snap their fingers and their every desire for changing their roles was to be immediately granted with no consideration whatsoever for the fact there are significant details that need to be worked out and, whether they like it or not, agreed upon...

I would not be surprised if she's pregnant again or wants to try again without all the stress.

Have we heard from her crazy family yet?  I'm surprised they haven't jumped on this train.

She looked thinner than she has looked in a while in the photos from her brief return to England.  I don't think she is pregnant yet, but I doubt they want Archie to be an only child, and she's not getting any younger, so I bet it will be coming soon.  Hopefully they have their lives figured out so she can not have all that stress while pregnant.

I'm not sure what the family nut jobs are doing.  Probably waiting for an interview invitation so they can throw in their useless proverbial two cents.
