Actually any wheat, whole or processed, is not good to eat. Wheat has changed over that past few decades and it has become a topic of debate amongst many health researchers. The word "gluten" is mostly discussed and it's unusually high amounts found in today's wheat  and wheat products. A more healthy wheat to eat is sprouted wheat...Ezekiel brand breads uses this kind of wheat, in the frozen food section.

@Trinity11  did you go off of your statins???

Yes ...... I went to the cardiologist because I could not walk without assistance last Thursday. The pain was beyond words so he did an ECG and that was same as last time but he is worried that I have muscle breakdown. The issue is that I take another med that increases the level of the statin in the bloodstream. Right now, I feel good and the pain is subsiding. I guess I will go back to fish oil or the statin every other day. My levels were perfect with the Lipitor, so I am disappointed.

I am so sorry. I had that problem in my left arm and was left with a burning pain , for a long time. It did eventually go away.  I tried another type but they did the same thing.

@cherryYes, I tried Crestor years ago and stopped before it got too bad. This time I felt I really needed to take them but if I cannot live a normal life taking them, I would rather just take my chances. The burning pain, I had in arms too and my legs were badly affected.

Of course, you can tweek this to your own taste.

This looks great @Noel7. I love every ingredient in it and I have all the ingredients for it except for the cherries, so I will use dried cranberries. I will make this tonight.

I am pretty good. Fighting off a cold which turned into an upper respiratory infection. I just had pneumonia before Christmas and had gotten rid of that but last week this started and I have gone downhill from there, lol. I didn't feel well today at all and have a fever, so I came home early and I am just lying on the couch, watching a DVR'd Barefoot Contessa. They gave me Tussionex cough syrup which taste a lot better than the last one I had so I just took a huge tablespoon full of it. Hopefully that will help. It better, it cost me $85!! The pharmacist said most cough syrup isn't covered by insurance, even the good ones. I just get sick and tired of being sick, but I have been eating a lot of foods high in antioxidants and despite this illness, I do think it has been helpful. I have been adding turmeric to everything. I really love it.

How are you doing? I know you haven't been feeling well either. Have you been in the hospital recently?

Speaking of nails, I am going back and forth between here and a couple of nail blogs to check out the new spring colors. I have been thinking of purchasing some suspension bases and trying my hand at making some of my own just for fun! Have you gotten anything new?

Hope all is well with you too. Thanks for the recipe, I can't wait to try it tonight. I cannot believe I have everything for this, even the pumpkin seeds which I love!!

That Ezekiel bread looks awful. My neighbor eats it, but he has trouble with his blood sugar taking a dive ,and I don't

I don't eat much bread anyway

I don't eat much bread either. I don't have a problem with blood sugar. I do have concerns about the high levels of gluten found in most breads however.

I'd rather eat a potato than a slices of bread.Woman Very Happy

It is really hard never to have carbs ,when  most of our food is full of them.  My Dr told me to eat protein, if I am hungry, so I do. I don't have heart ,or blood pressure issues ,so that works for me

I'm glad that you found what is working for you, @cherry.

That's the thing with all of the eating plans/diets that are out there.

There is no 1 diet that is perfect for every single human being out there.

We each have to find what works best for ourselves, and just because your plan works for you, does not mean that it will work for me.

It really is just that simple.

As for myself, I don't follow any one eating plan, and don't really intend to.

As I have gotten older, my tastes in foods have changed.

I use to be a huge carb eater, but I don't really find myself craving carbs anymore.

For example, I used to eat a loaf of bread a week, have pasta once a week, baked potatoes, every other week.

Now, I hardly crave those things, and since I don't, I don't eat them. It's as simple as that.

I'm not following anyone's diet/eating plan, other than my own, which is I want what I want.

I also cut back on my sugar.

I use to drink soda all the time, now I might have 1 soda per week. if that, and when it comes to coffee, I drink it black at work, but if I am in a restaurant, I'll add two little packets of sugar, and two little tubs of cream to it, and that's it.

Now, I know people are going to be agast at my lifestyle, but guess what? It's MY lifestyle, and I'll live MY life, the way that I want to.

The more that a person tries to shove their eating plan down my throat, as "the best" eating plan, the more that I am going to resist.

The more that they insist, the more that I resist.

The more that they insist, the more that I resist.

The more that they insist, the more that I resist.

So, I am happy that everyone has found a plan that works for them, but don't even try to convince me that I need to eat the same exact way that they do, because it aint gonna happen.

In other words, they can keep all of their "helpful advice" (eye roll) to themselves, and just leave me the heck alone.

I don't see why that is so difficult for them to do.

If and/or when I want to change how I eat, I will do the research myself, and not take the word from some "Dr." or "study", that someone else heard third-hand.

That, to me, holds absolutly no value whatsoever.

If they want to be in a snit, because I choose to not want their advice, and to bow and scrape at the feet of what ever guru they are following, that's on them.

I refuse to join their "diet cult" just because their eating plan cures every disease known to man.

And if they don't like that? Tough!

As I said, it's MY life, let me live it as I choose to, and leave me the heck alone.

Capisce?

@SilleeMee  If you go to Dr. Axes website, he refutes the claim ,Ezekiel bread is gluten free. I tried to do a copy and paste, but it wouldn't work
